Halloween lady bug

This is my sweet grand daughter.  She was a lady bug for Halloween.  She's just starting walk a few steps on her own, so trick or treating meant a lot of carrying.  I had found the cutest set of wings at the Yellow Daisy Festival in Stone Mountain this year and my daughter-in-law found a cute tutu on Etsy.  Who knew there were so many tutus available.  Not being a girly girl myself, I just don't know these things.

So we got her dressed up if only to take pictures!  They did go to a family member's neighborhood to go door to door.

I know she won't remember it but we had to do it!

My decorations this year were not all that much.  We live way back off the road so no one sees it but us.  I do miss mega decorating.  When we lived in town, we had a house on a busy street with a big front porch and I used to go all out.  It was the scary house in the neighborhood.

My sister holds that distinction now.  Her "front porch of doom" is the hit of the neighborhood!

So now starts the count down till Thanksgiving and Christmas! Birthdays thrown in, too.  My son comes home in Dec in time for Christmas before they pack up and head west.  It's going to be a crazy 2 months for us!

I hope everyone had fun Halloween and you're safe from all the storm damage!

  1. OMG what a darling little lady bug she is! How you do get anything done with that lil cutie around??? I'd sit and hold her and play with her all the time :)

Love your pumpkins, and your sisters porch is awesome. I used to have a porch to go all out on, too. We live on a lonely road and haven't had a trick or treater in 10 years :(

That is great that your son will be home in time for Christmas! Lil Lady Bug will probably be full on walking by then!
