So I promised to post more and here you go! This was my glaze load opening. It's always like Christmas when I open that glaze kiln. Sometimes good, sometimes bad or so so. I'll have to say this one was good. I had 2 commissions and other stuff that came out great and only a couple things that will have to touched up and reglazed. And I was so proud of myself that I remembered to take pictures!
My husband just replaced the elements and thermocouples so my kiln fired like new. A perfect cone 6. It had been struggling to get to temp all summer and I finally just bit the bullet and ordered new elements. It's so nice to have a handy husband!

I didn't get the bottom level photoed. So the commissions were a noodle bowl and spoon rest.
YAY, I feel like I'm on a role now! I've got 2 more commissions waiting to bisqued but that will probably be next week. Trying to make up for lost time. I don't really do down time well. I think about all the things I need to be doing!!
So I'm not goofing off this Labor Day weekend. I hope you are doing what you want to do!!
The noodle bowl is great. I've never seen anything like that. Love the holes for the chopsticks!
ReplyDeleteThe noodle bowl is beautiful! I love the color. That would make an excellent Christmas present.
ReplyDeleteHandy husbands are the best, aren't they?! Have a wonderful Labor Day enjoying your like new kiln.
